Moving Companies Don’t Move Everything

In New York, moving companies are carefully scrutinized. Moving residences can be a very daunting task, especially if you have a lot of belongings. You will have to decide what to bring with you and what to leave behind, pack the things you want to bring, entrust them to a moving company and have them move your stuff to your new place. And after that, you have to unpack and try to make everything feel like home.

What a lot of people do not know is that there are certain limits as to what movers can move for their customers. Moving companies are prohibited by federal law to transport animals in their vans. Flammable items and hazardous chemicals cannot be moved either, even common tiki torch oils and fertilizers.

Transporting these items are not allowed both for the safety of the New York moving companies and the protection of your belongings. You would not want your pet dog to get crushed by your upright piano on the way to your new home, nor would you want your boxes to catch fire because you forgot to drain the gas from your lawn mower.
